CAPPADOCIA&NEMRUT TOUR

DAY 1
Meeting at our office in Sultanahmet at 19:00 and the shuttle will take to Bus terminal where you will take your overnight coach to Cappadocia.Our journey will take apprx.10 hours and will make regular stops for 3 times during the night.Early in the morning arrival at the the  Nevsehir(Province of the Region) and our staff will meet you in the bus terminal and drive you to the cave hotel where you will stay that night.After a short rest and refreshment time we start our first day  tour in Cappadocia at appx. 09:30a.m. in our regular local small groups with english speaking guide escort.

We commence our North Cappadocia tour with:Devrent Imagination Valley and will take a walk through this lunar landscape,where different rock formations can be seen.Zelve Open Air Museum:Houses carved in rock,Seljukian mosque and remains nearly from all the ancient civilizations of this part of Anatolia.Fairy Chimneys:which have been formed as the result of the erosion of this tufa layer sculpted by wind and flood water running down the slopes of the valleys.Avanos(Vanessa) Pottery Center where you can attend a pottery-making demonstrations  with Hittite tecniques

Lunch at  Pigeon valley in Cave restaurant with open-buffet.

We continue our tour with Citadel of Uchisar;highest point of the area(Climbing not permitted)You can also have a camel ride for 5 min with an additional fee of 2-3$Esentepe: where we can watch the fantastic panoramic view of the Goreme valley.Goreme open-air Museum:unique ensemble of rock-carved churches,chapels and monasteries,decorated with invaluable frescoes painted during the 10th and 11th centuries.

When we finish our tour around around 5p.m. we can stop by request for shopping in particular places or head to our cave hotel.Free time and overnight in the Cave Hotel.

DAY 2

(Hot air balloon tour is also avalaible upon request early in the morning.Please see the note below for booking details)

Pick up from your hotel at about 09:30 depending on your hotel location.We commence our South Cappadocia Tour with Mustafa pasha to visit an authentic rural Cappadocian village and admire the Greek and Ottoman architecture of the mansions of this old village once called Sinassos that was inhabited by Greek Orhodox families until the begining of the 20th centuryOn the way to Soganli valley we will pay a visit to Keslik Monastery to see churches and monasteries built between 8th and 12th centuries with their refectory,dormitories and other complexes used by the monks.Then we arrive to Soganli valley for our Lunch.After we finish rest during our meal we will have a hiking through this quiet valley for 3 kms and visit its rock-carved tombs,churches,monasteries with frescoes.Kaymakli Underground City:We will see how people lived in this multi-level underground complex,with kitchens,dormitories,storages,wine cellars and stables.

DAY 3

Pick up at the hotel/hostel in Cappadocia and join oursmall groups and  get acquainted with your guide and travel-mates. After driving about 40 min. We will visit the Seljuk Karatayhan Caravanserai on the famous Silk Road just beyond Kayseri. We then drive for lunch through the Taurus Mountains, affording us the opportunity to observe the countryside and daily-life of rural Turkey. After lunch we head to Maras and taste the best ice-cream in Turkey. We then drive to Kahta and check-in our hotel. Overnight in Kahta. 

DAY 4

Pick up at the hotel/hostel in Cappadocia and join oursmall groups and  get acquainted with your guide and travel-mates. After driving about 40 min. DAY 5

We depart from hotel very early in the morning up to theMount Nemrut. At the end of the road, we get off the van and walk twenty-fiveminutes until the summit. Here we watch the memorable sun rise between thecolossal size statues and heads of the kings and Gods. We then visit Arsemiawhich was once the capital of the Commagene Kingdom before continues to theancient Septimus Severus Bridge over the Cendere stream, and the Karakustumulus where members of the royal family were buried. We keep driving toSanliurfa and Harran. We visit the Ataturk Dam which is the biggest dam in theMiddle East, en route. We check-in the hotel in Sanliurfa and have lunch there.After lunch we visit Abraham's Cave and the Pools of Holy Carp surrounding it.We than walk around oriental covered bazaar and Gümrükhan. We drive to Harran avillage of Mud-Brick "beehive" houses mentioned in the book ofgenesis where Abraham spent the last years of his life. Dinner and overnight inSanliurfa.

 


DAY 6

SANLIURFA-CAPPADOCIA
After breakfast we depart from Sanliurfa to Birecikwhich is famous for its bald-ibis (Kelaynak) birds. These birds are living onlyin Birecik in the world and there is a very limited population of them. Wevisit the breeding farm of Bald Ibis birds. After our lunch, we drive up to theTaurus Mountains. We have a short tea break and drive back to Göreme.
